History Trivia

April 28, 1192 Assassination of Conrad of Montferrat (Conrad I), King of Jerusalem, in Tyre, two days after his title to the throne was confirmed by election. The killing was carried out by Hashshashin. 1442 King Edward IV of England was born.
1630: Charles Cotton was born. Cotton was a poet who also translated French historical and philosophical works (most notably the essays of Michel de Montaigne) into English. He also wrote The Compleate Gamester and The Planter's Manual, as well as that for which he is most famous: the section on fly fishing in The Compleat Angler.
